The volume of transactions using Apple Pay has increased 450% with the service now available via 20 million locations globally.
Apple Pay has expanded to several new international markets over the last year with the service now available in 15 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Russia.
The figures were revealed in a conference call with analysts and Apple’s CEO Tim Cook. Cook didn’t reveal the number of Apple Pay users, revenue from Apple Pay, or the value of those transactions, but did say that around 4.5 million locations in the US now accepted Apple Card for purchases.
The service may be extended in the future to allow users to send cash to one another.
